What is the definition of 'IT Governance'?
I think it is the proper management and usage of IT resources to achieve optimised benefits or good returns from IT investments.
Good IT Governance involves not just the IT managers or the people, e.g. System, Network Administrators, DBA, who manage the resources, but also non-IT management or corporate users who use the IT resources.
Every users of IT services and resources should be aware of the proper ways of using them and not mis-use, mis-manage, under utilise or over-expecting.
Management should ensure that there must be viable objectives to IT implmentations, and set goals to attain these objectives. Good monitors should be setup to ensure that these implmentations truly meet organisation business needs and directions.
